4-Legger Dog Grooming Products
*Disclaimer: I received monetary compensation and/or product in exchange for my honest review. I value your trust, and only work with brands when I truly believe in their missions and ingredients. The opinions are myown, and always honest.
I am in love with this company. Is that possible? Yes it is.
If you guys are about natural pet products, like you know I am, you need to get your hands on these products ASAP. Did you know in human shampoo’s we have ingredients such as carcinogenic byproducts that actually contribute to organ toxicity, possible mutations and cancer. For more information on that, you can read an article by Dr. Mercola HERE.
The sad truth is, the same ingredients fall true in our pet grooming products. We are lathering this stuff into our dog’s coat and skin, we want it to be something that we feel comfortable about. I have finally found a safe place to land with 4-Legger!
Why They Rock:
The reason 4-Legger exists is truly prenominal. When Melissa, the Owner, was diagnosed with breast cancer, her dog Henry Clay died of cancer. The same day. This broke my heart to hear, but out of trials comes great blessings. Because of her weakend immune system, she had to bathe the dogs regularly. Their skin became DRY and IRRITATED. She realized that a lot of “natural” and “organic” pet shampoos were falsely advertising! They contained terrible ingredients that she couldn’t justify purchasing them anymore.
Grooming products are NOT regulated by the FDA!
So what is a girl to do? Make her own brand! At least, that’s what Melissa did. She wanted to get dog owners the peace of mind she wanted to feel.
As stated on their website, “Through the NOP, all ingredients and products are independently reviewed to ensure compliance with the USDA organic standards – the highest standard a product can achieve.”
What a brand to get behind!

I was able to try the Aloe Vera/Lemongrass Shampoo, the Peppermint/Cedar/Eucalyptus Conditioning Shampoo, and the Nose & Paws Healing Balm. I will put a link on where to buy these products at the bottom of this review. Benji and Milo are not big fans of baths, as many dogs aren’t, but the fact that these products contain safe essential oils seemed to help keep them at ease. Let’s get started!
Milo: “It’s time for a bath! Brother, hold my hand!”
I started off with them both in the bath, obviously. Benji had gotten his hair cut about two weeks prior, so I didn’t want to give him a deep wash too soon. He is prone to allergies, as you know, so I still wanted to really clean those feet and get off dander anyway. Look at that face!
I removed Milo for the next part: official bath time for Benji… dun dun dun…
I turned the water on lukewarm and lathered him up with the Aloe Vera/Lemon Grass Shampoo. He seemed to like the smell, and so did I!
After wards he smelled so good, I was ready to cuddle him all up! I towel dried him, and that was fast because his hair is so short now.
Next up, Milo’s turn! Milo was going to be our deep cleaning tester. He was really due for his bath! I got him in, and he was ready to go…
It takes a while to get Milo wet because he is so thick and fluffy, so after doing this multiple times, it was time to add the shampoo! For Milo, I chose the Conditioning Shampoo with Peppermint/Cedar/Eucalyptus. Again, he seemed to like the smell! It was nice to be able to try the different scents they have in their different products.
I could tell in this part that it was truly natural. It didn’t soap up a lot! That’s because it doesn’t contain any synthetic chemicals that most shampoos contain to create the lather effect. It did the job, and spread through his hair nicely!
I rinsed him off and we went off to blow dry…
I’m kidding… kinda…
HE’S FLUFFY, OKAY?!
Once he was all nice and dry, I wanted to test out the Nose & Paws Healing Balm. This is great if your dog has a dry nose, or cracked paws, or to aide as a preventative. I talked a little about the importance of having a palm salve in my Summer Safety for Dogs post. This is a great addition to my list.
As I put some on his feet, he tried to sneak a taste. I knew there wasn’t anything scary in the ingredients so I didn’t freak out about him licking his nose or paws. What a relief! P.S. It also made my hands smooth. But, you didn’t hear that from me. 😉
Tada! All in all, we loved it. I personally love the smell, the feel, and the ingredients. It’s truly a staple for your doggy household. We hope you enjoyed our little review and bath time!
**SOUND OFF! Tell me in the comments, does YOUR dog enjoy bath time?
